2011
Happy 2011! We have had a great start to the new year & things have been very busy here @ The Barber House!
Our good friends Aaron & Trish (and their 2 kids, Lane & Emerie) came into town for New Years Eve. Aaron helped Josh A LOT with our bathroom (see below) and otherwise, we just did a lot of hanging out and playing. :) I made sugar cookies with Keatin and Lane, and then let them decorate with frosting and sprinkles. (Lane helped me crack an egg - AKA, crushed the egg above the bowl...and when he got to the sprinkles, he just dumped the WHOLE tub of sprinkles on top of one cookie...seriously, remind me not to have twins!) :) I hope the kids thought it was fun!
Later in the day, we busted out the Play-Doh for Keatin and Lane...Emerie just ate some Goldfish and watched. :)
Took all these pics today...
Keatin was showing Will her butterfly toy. :)
A little tummy time for Will - he did pretty good lifting his head a few times!
So...Josh Barber has had FMLA the last week...which means he has been at home, and he has been VERY BUSY! He decided it was time to do some updating to our bathroom. This is something we have wanted to do since we bought the house, and the shower had a little mishap one of the first days I came home from the hospital with Will. Josh fixed that, but I think it motivated him to make some changes. He REALLY wanted to rip out the tub/shower, but I said this was not the right time for a huge project like that...which would leave us without anywhere to bathe ourselves for days. So, instead he decided to rip out the vanity/sink and put in a new floor (with assistance from Aaron), vanity, mirror, lights, and storage cabinet...oh, and re-do the ceiling and paint the walls. We will eventually get a new tub and toilet, but kept the old ones for now. Pictures are below - it is really coming together! We have a bit of painting left to do, and get towel bars/that kind of stuff...but I think it looks great, and Josh is very proud of himself...and of course, Keatin, Will, and I are proud of him too! (I think in his next life, he will flip houses.) :)
Oh - and Will's belly button fell off tonight! Keatin was very surprised and kept calling it "poop." :)
