Weekend fun...
Another eventful weekend at the Barbers... We had friends in town for the ISU/Texas A & M game (or should I say the tailgating that went on before/during/after the game). :) Aaron, Trish, and their son Lane were here...as well as 2 other friends from high school - Matt and Keith (and Keith's wife Nicole). It was a gorgeous day to be outside, and Trish/Lane and Keatin/me went down for 2 hours...the boys were there from about 1130 am - 830 pm. :)
We also busted out the Bumbo seat for the first time...and Keatin did really well in it! We will have to use it more often!

Keatin smiles at daddy...
Here are a few smiles...not the biggest one she sports these days, but a little peak. :)
Playing in the bouncy seat...
I know my mom has been watching the same video daily, if not multiple times a day :) ... so thought I would provide some new entertainment. :)

Bouncy seat...
Another video I told my mom I would upload... :) It is from last week - just Keatin watching the bubbles on her bouncy seat, moving around her arms and legs... :)

Rattle Video
This video is from earlier this week... Thought it was cute because she grabbed for the rattle. :)
1st tailgating experience
Today Keatin ventured into the world of tailgating at an ISU game! :) Our friends Sarah and Jesse are here from Omaha, and we went down to tailgate for a few hours this morning for the ISU/Nebraska game. We are back home now, but Keatin did well...slept most of the time. She sported her ISU gear...and promptly pooped all over it when we got home - go figure! The pics are from this morning...enjoy!

Another video I had on the computer from a few nights ago...just have to post it so everyone can laugh at Josh. :)

Grandma and Grandpa Barber visit...
We had company today - G & G Barber stopped for a few hours...they were in Des Moines to get some plane tickets and bedding for their new bed. They had not seen Keatin since her baptism and were VERY excited to come for a visit. We had a nice afternoon...I think Grandma Barber held Keatin about 99% of the time...and Paul fixed the light in my laundry room, so that was wonderful as well! :) I head back to work tomorrow for my first full week and the weather is supposed to get cold - YUCK! :)
Keatin posing with the big lion that her daddy brought home for her. :)
Grandma and Keatin napping...
Look at Keatin - she is "talking!"

BIG DAY!
It was a big day at the Barber house today - my first day back at work, Keatin's first day at daycare, and her 2 month doctor's appointment this afternoon!
Not going to lie...I shed many a tear before I left the house this morning. I left Josh and Keatin at home, and Josh took her to daycare. I picked her up around 1230, and seems like her morning was just fine. It was so great just to scoop her up when I got there... :)
Off we went to the doctor's office where she got 5 shots - 5!!!!!!! That was a new cry I have never heard, and she has been sleeping since... She weighs 10-10, and 22 inches long now...what a big girl!
OH...and get this... She slept from 830 pm last night until 530 this morning - longest stretch for her ever! Now, I was awake every hour (so kind of defeats the purpose)...but exciting nonetheless. :) Now tonight, she will probably be up every hour!

Weekend fun...
It was my last weekend before going back to work...a BIG sigh from mom. :) It was GORGEOUS weather here in Ames, and the town was PACKED with extra people here for the ISU/KU game...we tried to stay away from all that traffic! Below are just some fun photos (and a funny video with Josh's voice)... The last one is Keatin with Lane, Aaron and Trish's son - they stopped by for 30 minutes or so on Sunday on their way back to Cedar Falls...he is getting to be such a big boy!

The harness is gone!!!!!!!!!!!
Can you tell how EXCITED I am???!!!!
Keatin and I went to see Dr. Lindaman today...he examined her hips and said the joints felt VERY tight...and we took the brace off! We have to go back in 2 months for follow-up x-rays, but today has been a very happy day! I touched her feet over and over at the doctor's office - I felt so special just being able to rub the bottom of them. She seems so small and kind of fragile when I hold her...I guess I was used to feeling the harness around her body. Right now, Keatin is napping in her bed...Josh and I are interested to see how she reacts to just all her daily things, but she snuggled right up when she got tired, we rocked a bit, and she was out...so far so good! Here are 2 pics I have taken today - one at the doctor's office just minutes after I took the harness off, and another one here at home...KEATIN CAN NOW WEAR PANTS AND SOCKS (yes, I know I am a geek for being this excited about pants and socks). :)
Last week, Grandma Petersen came for a few days - she was a WONDERFUL help and cried when she had to leave Keatin...which then of course makes me cry. :)
Last weekend, we went to Omaha for a wedding open house for Jen and Joey... Here are some pics from Jen and Joey's house...
On Tuesday evening, my friend form Creighton, Katie, and her son, Owen, drove all the way from Chicago for a visit! We were SO excited to have company, and truly appreciate Katie being as brave as she was to drive that far BY HERSELF with an 18-month old! It was SO good to see them both, and we had a great time hanging out and catching up (as much as you can between taking care of an 18-month old and an 8-week old). :) We bummed around the house and Ames yesterday, and then Katie, Owen, Keatin, and I went to Jordan Creek in Des Moines today (after our doctor's appointment) and shopped/let Owen play at the indoor gym there. (Can I say, that place TRULY made me feel like a mom!) Katie fed Keatin a bottle while I chased Owen around - WHEW!
OH - and of course we watched the CUBS last night on TV...no comment on the outcome of the game, but Keatin looked like a star in her CUBS gear! :)
