Weekend trip

Last weekend, we ventured to the metropolis of Storm Lake to get our taxes done...and also spend time visiting G & G Petersen (Josh's parents were off on a trip to the Dominican Republic). We enjoyed our time at home and Keatin even slept good in her pack-n-play...which doesn't usually happen! I have included several pictures from the trip - enjoy!

The "men" and the "girls" (Keatin and Crimson). :)

On Saturday morning, my mom remembered they had a booster seat in the basement...and guess who LOVED sitting at the table with everyone else! Such a big girl...drinking out of a sippy cup and reading the newspaper. :) (I have no idea who put the paper there...) :)

Keatin got to see lots of friends while in SL...here she is with our neighbor Rayma!

Almost Valentine's Day...

One more day until Valentine's Day! Just makes me think again about how much we love our little angel... :) Josh and I truly are blessed with an amazing daughter...who develops her personality more and more each day. (When I was in the other room last night, I heard Josh tell Keatin that she gets cuter every day...) :)

Keatin has happily been eating fruits and veggies since last Friday night. She loves sweet potatoes, applesauce, and pears... She is also starting to understand how a sippy cup works. Here are 2 pics from our first attempt at sweet potatoes - she did really good! :)

She has also really gotten the hang of sitting up. We still put her between our legs or in the boppy pillow (as she still topples), but she loves her new view. :) Josh doesn't have his slippers on in this picture, but she loves sitting like this and then undoing the ties on his slippers. :)

Below are a bunch of pictures from our trip to Cedar Falls over the weekend. We had a great time with Aaron, Trish, and Lane. Lane is busy crawling all over the place and walking around furniture. Keatin loved sitting up and watching him go! He did try to steal her toys every once in awhile, but otherwise they had fun playing together. :) And check out the bath pictures - that was quite entering for the babies...and the parents as well! :) Trish, Lane, Keatin, and I went to church on Sunday morning...and visited Aaron's brother, Patrick. Josh and Aaron worked on their house...well, Aaron worked...and Josh helped. :) It was a great time and we always love hanging out with them!

6 month appointment

Keatin's 6 month appointment was yesterday morning and went just fine! She weighed in at 16 pounds, 12 ounces and is 26 inches long...both of which are between the 50th-75th percentile (her head was a little bit above the 75th percentile, but I just told the doctor that is because it is full of brains). :) Her ear infection looked to be gone, and Dr. Paschen was unable to dislocate her hips (which is a good thing). :) She is also able to start eating fruits and vegetables...which we tried sweet potatoes and pears last night with great success! (Funny story...she had a dirty diaper when she woke up this morning and her poo-poo was bright orange - ha ha!) She had to get 3 shots and we go back in one month to get a 2nd flu shot. Other than that, Dr. Paschen said she looked perfect...which of course we already knew. :)

We are headed to Cedar Falls today to see Aaron, Trish, and Lane... I will upload new pictures after our trip!

PS - Remember to keep praying for Baby Cora - her family's blog link is THE MACS. Thank you!

Sitting up...kind of :)

This is from a few nights ago...Keatin sitting up, in the midst of playing. :) It is amazing the difference a few days makes because last night, she sat all by herself without the boppy pillow for several minutes at a time! :)

Sitting up in the bath!

Look at the big girl we have on our hands - Keatin is sitting up in the bathtub! :)

An update!

Sorry it has been awhile since I have updated the blog! Below are an array of pictures for you to enjoy! Keatin is working REALLY HARD on sitting up and is getting closer every day. She is also making the "MMM" sound of MAMA...which of course I say to her on a daily basis. :) Keatin goes back to the doctor on Friday for her 6 month appointmant - AAAHHHH, where has time gone! I will update with her "stats" over the weekend...

Grandma and Grandpa Petersen, Jen and Joey, and my aunt and uncle (Sue and Ken) came over the weekend for the ISU/Oklahoma basketball game... We had bought tickets for everyone as a christmas gift... Aunt Jen bought Keatin this "educational gift" - a new book that she mostly enjoyed chewing on. :)

We have had this contraption in our basement since before Keatin was born, and just busted it out over the weekend. She seemed to really enjoy it and even figured out how to make it bounce up and down. :)

OK - I know we may look like martins or something, but I swear we only wore these during the 3D commercial of the Super Bowl! :) Too bad we only had 4 pairs...Keatin and Crimson couldn't see the 3D action! :) (Lyle, Becca, me, and Josh) :)
