DA DA & Pink Eye

The goopy eyes??? They were pink eye...we are on the 2nd day of drops and seems to be helping. :)

And in other news...Keatin officially mimicked both Josh and I this morning when we said "da da." I thought she was doing it yesterday in her whisper voice, but she definitely said it twice this morning right after she got up. It is getting marked down in the baby book - 1st word: da-da on March 28th! :)

Icky eyes...

Keatin has had crusty, gooey, irritated eyes since Monday... Not sure if it is allergies or a cold, but they are pretty gross. :( When I got her up this morning, they seemed some better...but she also woke up around midnight screaming and it took awhile to settle her back down. Sometimes I just wish babies could tell you what is wrong! :) The one side of her upper gums feels very hard and bumpy...maybe a tooth????

Here are some pics from last night...just hanging around the house with mom, dad, and Becca...

Daddy says this is Keatin being Grandpa Barber...I think the bubbles are supposed to be hair, and the top of her head bald. (I DID NOT say this...Josh did!)

Becca came over last night for some dinner and babbling time with Keatin... :)

A milestone!

OK - I don't know if this really counts as a baby milestone or not, but for the first time I found Keatin in her crib this morning sleeping on her tummy! She has been rolling over for MONTHS, but had never done it in her bed...until apparently last night. Anyways, I thought about taking a picture...but then decided that was a cruel way to wake someone up.

We had a nice weekend at home. Grandma and Grandpa Barber came for a short visit - they had a wedding to attend in Ames on Saturday afternoon/evening, but we saw them for a bit before they went to the wedding and for a few hours on Sunday morning before they had to go back to Storm Lake. However, they did help us rake leaves in the yard, clean out gutters, re-hang my outdoor star decoration, and take down a poll in the basement - whew!

We discovered last week that Keatin enjoys playing in the laundry basket...and with clean laundry that I HAVE JUST SPENT A LOT OF TIME FOLDING! Under the supervision of her dad and Becca, she managed to undo a WHOLE pile on Saturday night...urgh... :)

On Sunday, the four of us (Crimson included) went for a nice stroll around the neighborhood. We stopped off at a park and took Keatin down the slide, on the swing, and on one of those bouncy horse things. She seemed to enjoy it all. :)

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Top of the morning to you! (Isn't that what the Irish say?) :) Anyways, Happy St. Patty's Day. We got to wear "greens and jeans" to school today, and I baked green choc. chip cookies for Keatin to share at day care today...all the other kids could eat them, but not her. Oh well! They turned out very green - should have taken a picture...

Keatin got a new dress from Jenni Christians - she made it and Keatin looked so darn cute in it (she wore it yesterday)! I might have to request if she will make us a few more. :)

(OK - just had to include this one.) :)

Playing in the living room...

This is Keatin and "Aunt" Becca on Sunday evening - she was fascinated with her necklace. Watch out - this baby loves jewels! :)

Eating the necklace...

No - you can not buy this baby if you call this phone number... :)

Keatin and Lyle... :)

More bath time fun! :)
I have been sick for about 2 weeks - fever off and on, aches, and a HORRIBLE cough. I am now on a Z-pack and hope this will help...Josh has had to sleep in the other room because of my coughing. :( I am exhausted...I hope this goes away soon! It has been gorgeous weather here the last couple days...we will have to go for a walk when I get home! :)

Grandma is funny! :)

Grandma and Grandpa Petersen were in Ames over the weekend...and that Grandma is one funny lady!

Busy weekend!

It was a busy weekend at the Barber house! I did not have school on Friday because of parent-teacher conferences...which worked out perfectly because our good friends from Wichita, KS came to Ames for a visit! (Adam, Jen, Tyler, Leah, Turner, and Carly Christians - Jenni and I attended school at St. Mary's together until high school when her family moved to LeMars). Adam and Jen lived in Ames and went to ISU until Adam got an engineering job in Wichita, and they love coming back to Ames to see old ISU-things and visit old friends...and we just happen to live in Ames now so it works out nicely! We had lunch at Hickory Park on Friday and the "girls" hung out for a few hours on Friday afternoon. On Saturday, the whole "crew" went to the ISU/Texas Tech BB game at Hilton - it was a great game and the kids did awesome. We all hung out for a few hours after the game at our house, and they took off early on Sunday morning! The weekend went by fast, but it was great to see old friends. Keatin LOVED having other kids around the house - she enjoys watching what everyone else is busy doing! :)

Keatin is in the midst of trying to crawl...she can spin herself on her stomach and can scoot backwards...we will keep practicing. :) She was also talking, talking, talking yesterday...she has found that voice and sometimes it is rather loud! :)

We hope you all have wonderful weeks - enjoy the pics! :)

Keatin and Leah Christians...Leah was coloring and Keatin wanted to be involved. :)

Keatin and Leah playing in the living room...

Keatin and Carly Christians...of course they wanted the same plastic baggy to play with. :) (BTW - Carly turned one on January 28th and is not that much bigger than Keatin!) :)

Best buddies - Crimson and Keatin... :)

At the ISU BB game...Daddy and Keatin...

Mommy and Keatin at the game...

After the game...play time at the Barber residence. :)

These 2 were very busy with this toy for quite awhile...I LOVED watching them explore it together. :)

Turner Christians and Keatin...just lounging around. :)

"Keatin - why is she taking our picture AGAIN?" :)

Uncle Joey and Aunt Jen gave Keatin this jumper at Christmas...so we had to take a photo for them to see! :)

High chair pictures on Sunday night - she was a hungry girl! :)

Sunday night bath... Yes - the child has been fed...just LOVES to suck on washcloths! :)

WATCHING SOME BB...

Keatin really enjoyed having other kids at our house this weekend. Here she is watching Turner play some basketball!

Sunday supper

Keatin enjoying her Sunday supper...or maybe not. :)

In the sink???

This is daddy's new favorite place to do bathtime...the kitchen sink! It apparently brings back childhood memories for him...and claims he took sink-baths at his grandma's house until he was 3...interesting... :)

Keatin has her snotty nose back, so she has been a little more "emotional" this week. I have also been gone the last 2 nights, so daddy and Keatin have had lots of bonding time and Josh told me this morning that Keatin whispered in his ear that she missed me. :( Looking forward to this week being over (I have school conferences) and the weekend...our friends from Wichita are coming to Ames!
