footie jammie weather

Not sure if "footie" or "jammie" are real words...

But it was definitely a footie jammie night last night. First one of the season. :)

Luckily, Keatin had some that still fit from last year...and I had picked up Will 2 pairs.

And lucky for us, Jack and Reid were over for supper/bath time...and all these cuties got to put on their footie jammies together. :) So snuggly...love all 4 of them. :)

2 days later...

...it is really happening! More work has been done in our "hole." :)

it has begun...

 No turning back now!

Check out our new hole/house! :)

the "olden days"

Below is my conversation with a 1st grade student yesterday...

Student: (talking something about the Halloween costume his dad wore when he was 9 years old…) Mrs. Barber – how old are you?
Me: Well…maybe I am about as old as your dad. How old is your dad?
Student: I think he is 32.
Me: Well, I am 31…so we are about the same age.
Student: Mrs. Barber – when were you 9 years old?
Me: Oh – it was awhile ago.
Student: Mrs. Barber – were you 9 years old in the “olden days”?

Don't know why...I think it was his innocence in asking me that question...but I had a good laugh. :)

fun in a box

Who knew playing in a box would provide such entertainment? :)

Keatin and Will had been playing hide & seek in this box for quite sometime before I got the camera out. I was trying to catch Will "counting" (he was and it was so stinking cute)...but as soon as I got the camera out, he was too busy saying "cheese" for me. Oh well. :) You get the idea...

Happy Monday!

- new house -

I can't remember if I have mentioned it on this blog or not, but we are officially building a house in Bondurant! Josh and I met with the builder on Monday night...still lots of decisions to make, but the ball is definitely rolling.

On Sunday, we went out to "our lot"...where our future house will stand. Jen & Joey were in town and we wanted to show off our new digs to them. :) Joey took a few pictures of our family at our new "house" (even though it is not technically there yet). :) As you can see, the house will back up to city property/a pond...so a house will never be built behind us...which was a huge plus for Josh.

And here are the kiddos with their Aunt Jen & Uncle Joey. I am feeling a bit nostalgic about having Jen & Joey in town for the weekend. I know I can't accurately describe it in words...but both Keatin & Will l-o-v-e Jen & Joey...and it just makes me and my heart so happy. I think I could spend hours watching the 4 of them play together. Keatin and Will's squeals of joy and happiness are priceless. I think maybe I just feel so lucky that my kids feel so connected to these 2 great people. Thanks for making the trip J & J - please come back anytime. :)

[lasts]

Last Thursday night was our last night at our house as a family. The kids left for Storm Lake on Friday and Josh/I moved all weekend long...with LOTS of help from friends and family.

SO...because my husband is sometimes more sentimental about things than me (which isn't a bad thing)...he had the idea that we better get a picture of all 4 of us on the front step. Great idea...great picture. :)

Jack and Reid were with us on Thursday night to celebrate our last night at 500 Garden Road. Last time Will and Jack would run through the sprinkler together in this yard...

Keatin, Reid, Jack, and Will :)

Last time these 4 were squeezed into our bathtub together...

(OK - the more I look at Will's face in this picture, the more it is cracking me up!)

The 3 amigos. :)

Sometimes I think these 2 are long lost twins...or brothers...or something. :)

Goodbye to 500 Garden Road...hello to lots of new, wonderful times/memories! :)
