Mastering the fork...

Here are 2 videos of Keatin mastering the use of her fork.

OK - maybe mastering is too strong of a word...but she loves trying to use it and is getting pretty darn good at it! :) (Of course, she loves when we cheer her on!)

ISU/Iowa Weekend-O-Fun :)

Last weekend was the beloved ISU/Iowa football game in Ames. If you are not from Iowa, you may be thinking - what is the big deal? (Come on - we live in Iowa...not always a lot of excitement here). :) ANYWAYS, we had 7 people come to stay at our house and participate in the tailgating festivities. Josh, myself, Keith, Matt, and Aaron all graduated HS together...and all the boys came with their wives (and no kids)...Jen also came from Omaha to stay and tailgate...and we also had about 7 other friends meet us down at the tailgating lots that day...it was quite the crew! The weather was gorgeous! The boys were there from about 4 am until 4 pm (the game was at 11 am)...the girls were there from more like 730 am until 4 pm.

Keatin went off to SL for the weekend we Grandpa and Grandma Petersen...and of course, she had a blast. I really was okay without her until about Saturday afternoon...then I really missed her and wished I didn't have to wait until Sunday at lunch to see her again. :(

It was so fun to hang out with old friends! We even played several rounds of Cranium on Saturday night back at the house...depending on who was awake and able to participate. :) I think we should have the whole crew back this winter for an ISU BB game...maybe with kids this time... :)

Keatin and Mommy to the park!

Josh had to stay late at work last night...it was gorgeous weather...Keatin and I headed to the park to play outside for awhile before supper!

She immediately found the slide...now, this is not a kiddy-type slide...this is a big, tall slide...and she climbed all the way to the top of the steep stairs - such a rebel! We slid down the slide together a few times...then she just had fun "sliding" by herself at the bottom.

Just "talking" at the park... :)

us in ames...

Just some pics of us hanging out at home...

We spend most of our after supper hours playing in the basement. Keatin is LOVING her new toy room...especially her table and chairs.

She also has a deep love for our de-da (AKA - Crimson)... And with her love for Crimson comes a love for her DIRTY blanket and dog pillow. URGH...grosses me out every time I see her laying on this thing!

"Hi de-da....hi de-da...hi de-da..." Finally, the de-da came down the stairs...

Josh took these pics of Keatin with his idol Albert Pujols. :)

Keatin is starting to get a bit braver and will stand by herself. The little stinker usually sits down as soon as she sees me getting the camera out...but I was quick this time. :)

Josh and I are Keatin's favorite climbing toys... Here she is last week...

Labor Day Weekend

After Josh got off work on Saturday morning, we headed out to SL for Labor Day weekend! Josh and I had our 10 year high school class reunion on Saturday night...I know, I know - we are old. :) It was fun, but most of the people we see off and on anyways (you see, our graduating class had 29 people in it...not too big). :)

Josh spent most of Sunday golfing...Keatin and I hung out with G & G Petersen, Jen, and Grandma Barber. After Keatin got up from her afternoon nap on Sunday, we took her out on Storm Lake for her first boat ride. She didn't scream the whole time...she didn't smile the whole time...I think she was somewhere in the middle. Don't think she was a huge fan of the life jacket...it appeared to be a bit constricting. Oh well! The weather was wonderful the whole weekend, and it was fun to be home for awhile. Maybe Keatin will be walking the next time we are in SL - the grandparents are going to have to baby proof their houses!

Snacking with Grandpa Barber and Lucy the dog...

On the boat...what the heck is this big poofy thing I have on??????

I can't move my neck...

Grandma Barber, Keatin, and Crimson...

Keatin and Lucy...she loved these "de-das" (AKA - doggies). :)

Love the rolling chair!

Over Labor Day weekend at G & G Barber's house...Keatin discovered a love for their rolly kitchen chairs. The speed she could get them going was a bit dangerous...but this game entertained her for awhile. :)
