Barber/Carlson fun :)

We spent our Saturday in Cedar Falls with our good friends Aaron and Trish...and their 2 kids, Lane and Emerie. We LOVE hanging out with them...and oh my gosh, Keatin and Lane could quite possibly become best of friends if we only lived next door to each other! :)

Below is a glimpse into the fun we had! ENJOY!

-sunday-

We went to Cedar Falls yesterday to hang out with the Carlsons...more on that later...

Today, our day consisted of some napping and football watching...and then we decided to carve our pumpkin! I was really excited, because I remembered how Keatin loved helping Josh last year...digging her little hands in the pumpkin. Fast forward to this year...it apparently was too gross to touch this time around...go figure! :) Keatin stuck her hand in the pumpkin one time...other than that, she liked to stir the seeds and just watch Josh do all the work. Go figure! Josh did a great job carving the face, and we had fun watching it glow on our front step tonight.

While we were waiting for our supper to finish cooking, we turned on some football in the living room...I was folding laundry, Josh was dozing on the floor, and Keatin got out her blocks. I realized after a few minutes what she was doing...and let her work. I am not kidding - she patiently laid her blocks next to each other for 15-20 minutes!!! I was amazed how long she stuck with it - we had to take a picture (or 2). :)

4 years & dance class

4 years ago yesterday (10-21-06)...Josh and I tied the knot! :) We celebrated last night by going out for dinner...alone (minus the baby in the oven)...it was really nice. :) We got to TALK to each other, and eat yummy food. Josh got me a new i-pod chip for my running shoes...which honestly made me jealous I couldn't be out running. :( I gave him a new watch, dress socks, and a "date night" jar. It was a nice celebration for the 2 of us. :)

And dance class...or dance "cass" as Keatin calls it. :) We (Keatin & I) have been going to her "Little Stars" dance class for the last 5 weeks...I finally remembered to take my camera yesterday. She really enjoys the little 30 minute class...and I have enjoyed watching her become more independent and somewhat of a good learner/listener! She CLUNG to me the 1st time we went...and yesterday, did everything by herself! There were 2 other little girls in her class - I am pretty sure they were both 3 years old, although Keatin was taller than both of them. :) I signed her up for 6 more weeks - it is something fun for us to do together. I hope Josh can come watch sometime - it really makes Keatin seem like a big girl!

OK - so we might have our legs turned the wrong way here... :)

Dancing on our tip-toes. :)

Movements across the floor!

I believe this was Keatin with her hands on her hips, galloping across the floor...can't you tell??? :) :)

Hoping on the dots!

First position...again, can't you tell??? :) :) (She really was trying to put her arms like her teacher's...she missed.) :)

Keatin doing her plie...

Stickers at the end of class!

Center Grove Orchard

On this GORGEOUS day...we spent the morning at Center Grove Orchard in Cambridge, IA. :) This was THE MOTHER of all pumpkin patches! Seriously - Keatin may have been content to stay all day! (Josh too!) :)

SO - in honor of the fun pumpkin patch...and the new video tool I learned to use on Friday...enjoy the montage below!

Here are 2 videos Josh took on his phone as well... :)

farm

We were off to Josh's grandma's farm for the weekend! Josh and Dee helped grandma with various jobs that needed to be done around the farm...and since most of them involved lifting, I wasn't of too much assistance! We also got to see Josh's aunt/uncle who were visiting from California (and various other relatives on the Barber side of the family).

Keatin LOVED being able to go outside/inside over and over again. The weather was GORGEOUS...like 85 degrees...seriously??? In October??? We will take it though! Below are a few pictures I took of our outside "adventures." :)

Saturday morning...before mommy had even gotten out of her jammies...we were outside already!

Great-grandma brought me this fun flip-flop fly swatter to play with... :)

Aaahhh - mommy loves this face. :)

I ran around like a crazy woman in the grass!

I tried playing a little soccer...

Crimson wouldn't kick the ball back though... :(

After lunch on Saturday, we ran down the road to one of great-grandma's fields to watch the "big trucks" and combines. Mommy didn't realize HOW MUCH dust the combine was going to be kicking up...so we didn't stay long...but I did have fun investigating the "big trucks" for a few minutes!

And here is my "baby belly". :) 30 weeks... Notice the Bears shirt I wore to school today - Da Bears! :)

29 weeks...a big belly in a tie-dyed t-shirt...yikes! I had my blood glucose test and Rhogam shot last week at the doctor's...never got a call back, so I am assuming all is well! I now go back every 2 weeks...

Keatin has been "sleeping in" the last couple mornings...THANK THE LORD!!! Over the weekend, I explained to her and showed her that she needed to look at her window every morning...and if she saw the sun, then it was time to be awake...and if it was still dark, she needed to lay back down and go "na-night." Every morning now, she has said - "see mommy - da sun!" :) She is also getting herself dressed each morning all by herself. I tell her to go get her clothes off her chair and she does the rest! (Except when her shirt gets stuck on her big noggin.) :) However, 2 mornings, she has wanted to pick out her own clothes...seriously, already?????? She is only 2!!!!!

On Wednesday night, we spent a lot of time playing outside in the leaves after supper. The weather was perfect! Can't wait until we have more leaves to pile up and play in! (And hopefully keep outside...I think Josh and Keatin drug most of the leaves inside after we were done.) :)
