Been a busy last couple weeks for the Barbers! I will start with the yard work. For those of you who have been to our house before, you may remember the LARGE (and I mean large) growth of hostas that were outside our front door...very pretty, but all growing in a big blob with nothing next to them. I am by no means a landscape artist, but I did some yard work out in the front of the house to make it look a bit more pulled together...split up the hostas, planted some other flowers, new dirt/mulch - that kind of stuff. It was A LOT of work digging up those hostas, but I am pretty happy with the way my "project" turned out!
Last weekend, we were off to Iowa City for a wedding and we got to see our good friends Ben and Michelle and their 2 boys - Peyton and Tate. It was a short trip/visit, but so good to see them and meet little Tate!
LOVE this picture of Keatin! HA HA!
Ben, Peyton, and Keatin...not sure that Peyton likes sharing his daddy with a girl...
Daddy and Keatin having fun at the reception...
A family pic :)
Sunday morning (on Father's Day), Daddy really wanted to take Keatin swimming at the hotel pool...her first adventure in a big pool. She cried at first but as long as we were both in the water with her, seemed to enjoy it! Check out how EXTREMELY humid it was in the pool area...and Josh's big muscles. :) (OK - he would kill me for the saying that.)
A few days later, Keatin, my mom, and I headed to Omaha for a visit. First, we stopped off at my friend Sarah's house. We went to Creighton together and she & her husband Jesse had a daughter at the beginning of May - little Rory. Keatin looked like a GIANT next to Rory, but had fun giving her love taps and showing Jesse and Sarah how they needed to baby proof their house!
Then we were off to Jen and Joey's! Spent the night there 2 nights, got my hair cut by Bri, did some shopping, and got to see their new house right after they closed on it. So exciting!
Keatin discovered their stairs right away, and actually crawled up 2 of them - watch out!
We stopped off at the play area at the mall and let Keatin crawl around. I am sure she picked up about 1,000 germs, but she had fun exploring and watching all the big kids!
Yesterday we were on the road again to LeMars to my cousin's wedding. My cousin Makenzie (the bride's sister) had a daughter 11 days after Keatin was born...and here they are together. Little Ella was the flower girl and was just adorable. Keatin and Ella had fun sharing food together and "tapping" each other in the face over and over...must be the way baby's communicate or something. :)
At the reception...had to include this shot of Josh. :)
Entertaining ourself with the table decorations...
In the midst of all our travels, Keatin has cut her 4th tooth...she was just a peach at times. :) :) She is also starting to walk SLOWLY around furniture. But overall, she has done a great job and just has some sleep to catch up on! We are headed back to Ames this afternoon, and back to SL on Friday for the 4th of July!
