cedar falls

We went to CF for the weekend to visit our good friends - Aaron and Trish - and their 2 kids - Lane and Emerie. Miss Emerie was born at the beginning of January, and we were so excited to meet her! Plus, Aaron has COMPLETELY renovated their house by putting on an addition that has doubled their house...so this was the first time we got to see that as well. We had a great time (as we always do). :) Lane and Keatin had SO much fun playing together...just made me smile to watch them.

We hope to see Aaron, Trish, Lane, and Emerie again soon!

early b-day

So my mom and dad made me feel all special today...like I was the fun girl who gets mentioned on this blog all the time - ha ha!

I got a HUGE box sent to me at school (which of course made everyone oohh and aahh about what might be in it)...and it was full of a bunch of fun birthday presents! Keatin helped me open them all when we got home tonight (of course I couldn't wait). Sweaters, jammie pants, flip flops...and this super-cute spring jacket! It is pink and really neat...and had to take a picture so mom could see that it fit. :)

Mi-ckey

Keatin is obsessed with Mickey Mouse...and she always calls him Mee-tah...until Sunday...when we practiced REALLY hard...and she started saying Mi-ckey! Yeah! (It has gotten even better since then...she learns things SO fast!)

Josh, Keatin, and I headed down to Des Moines this afternoon to see Megan and Troy Wilshusen (Todd was at work). It has been WAY to long since we have been together...and I am so glad we were able to spend a few hours together.

I just couldn't resist pulling up some of the 1st pictures we have of Troy and Keatin together. :)

Valentine's Day Surprises

Keatin was a lucky girl today...she got 2 Valentines Day packages...one from each set of grandparents! Grandma and Grandpa Barber sent Keatin a heart-shaped necklace that lights up...and Grandma and Grandpa Petersen sent a new "trunk" of dress-up clothes, complete with tutu and leotard! What fun presents to come home to!

weekend

We had another fun-filled weekend at the Barber house!

Friday night, the 3 of us hung out...played in the basement...read some books...watched a little TV... After Keatin went off to bed, Josh's old roomie (Sterls) from college/KC came into town with his girlfriend for a visit...and to watch the ISU/K-State BB game on Saturday at Hilton. We love Sterls, and Josh was so happy to be with him...made my heart smile. :) Didn't get too many pics...but hope you enjoy what I got! :)

Josh took Keatin to her re-check with the ENT this morning...and her 18 month well-baby check. According to daddy, both appointments went well...and that is about all the details I got. :) :) Josh said she weighed in at 24 pounds even.

"The Mayor"

For the true ISU fans out there...Keatin LOVED Joey's Fred Hoiberg (aka - The Mayor) jersey when they were in Ames 2 weekends ago. Just got these pics from Aunt Jen! :)

Oh...and BTW...a new development in Central Iowa...it is snowing...again...I had school for 2 hours today (which miraculously counts as a day!)...not looking too promising for tomorrow... AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

18 months :)

My baby is going to be 18 months old this week...and I am really having that feeling of "where has time gone????" I got to thinking about last year at this time...when Keatin was 6 months old...so decided to post some old pics...look at those chubby cheeks!


(OK - I admit...I laughed out loud when I looked at this pic again...because she was apparently developing this "look" even last year...we get this "look" a lot!)

Keatin appears to be recovering fine from having tubes put in her ears. She goes back next Monday to see the ENT. Tomorrow, we head to Des Moines to she Dr. Lindaman - her pediatric orthopedic doctor. I am sure she will have her hips x-rayed, and am hoping we will be released from his care!
