And this was last night before Keatin's bath. It is her favorite game to run away from daddy when he is trying to get her in the bathroom. This is where I found her (thank HEAVENS we were on our way into the tub). I tried to get her and she told me: "no, daddy." :) (And seriously...poor Crimson...she honestly is SO good with Keatin).

Last night after supper, Keatin decided to take most of the letter magnets off the fridge and bring them over to the table...so I decided we should try to count them. Look at her go!

(After we got done counting, Keatin of course wanted to watch the video of herself...and then we looked at old posts on our blog...like last year at Halloween, and last year at Christmas. WOW - how has my baby turned into the big girl she is now????? It was so fun to look back - I told Josh I was SO glad we had all those old video clips.) :)

I have a bunch of pictures from our tailgating weekend-o-fun-in-the-rain. :) Some are probably more appropriate for the blog than others...will try to get them uploaded tonight!

On a side note...HOW BOUT THEM BEARS??? :) :) :) 3-0 baby! My principal's daughter told me yesterday she would be wearing her Packers shirt this morning after they won...she had a grin on her face when I just saw her and zipped her fleece up! HA! I am guessing it wasn't Packers gear under there... :)

(And for Josh's sake...Go Chiefs...3-0 as well!)

28 weeks tomorrow!!

Pray for no rain tomorrow...Keatin is going to SL for the weekend, and we have friends coming into town to tailgate for the ISU/UNI football game!

catch up

I haven't updated the blog in a long time...so a lot to catch up on!

Keatin was sick again for 3 days last week...high fever, again...sores in her mouth, again. So frustrating, and just sad because I want to make it go away for her. She wasn't eating, she wasn't really drinking, she was up at night...urgh... She was acting more like herself tonight and Josh even called her goofy...which we haven't been able to say for days...so we hope our Keatin is back! :)

A lazy weekend morning at the Barber house... :)



Last Tuesday evening, before Keatin got sick again, we went and watched Josh play sand volleyball. I watched some...Keatin preferred to play on the toys. :)




We were in Storm Lake over the weekend...this time, I got to be a bridesmaid in a wedding! Our good friend, Ann, got married...and we were so happy we could be there to celebrate with her and her new hubby, Jason. We stayed at G & G Petersen's house, so Keatin had lots of play time with their toys. A favorite on Saturday morning was the musical instruments...Keatin and Grandma were quite the duo. :)

Keatin and I had a lot of fun dancing together...I was her favorite partner...which I paid for this morning when my back and feet were killing me! :)

OK...I am at work, just doing a little research about how I want to help the WM Elementary students celebrate National Character Counts! Week in October... And I am thinking this program is something we might try this year!

Cy-Hawk Football Game

No crazy tailgating this year for the ISU/Iowa football game! (Probably because the game was in Iowa City...) :)

Lyle, Becca, and Jack came over for the afternoon to watch the game, hang out, and have dinner together. Keatin and Jack both slept through various parts of the game...which was fine by all the adults! :)

I only took a few pics...I have to bust out our camera more often!!!

(On a side note, our basement is FINALLY, FINALLY getting put back together. Keatin and I spent a couple hours down there yesterday morning cleaning and picking up...and picking up...and picking up...oh wait, that is because I had a 2 year old "helping" me! Josh cleaned the carpets in the bedroom last week, and said he would do the rest today before his commitment to watching the NFL.) :)


Jack and Josh chilled like this on the couch for quite awhile. Once Jack's eyes caught the "wall of football," he was quite content to hang out on Josh's lap...must have been comfy!



Taking a pic in our ISU/Iowa gear... Keatin has a cute little Hawkeye windsuit she wore to Jessica's house on Friday. Daddy picked it out for her...he was SO proud of himself. :)

25 weeks

I am 25 weeks pregnant - where has time gone???

Again...took the photo at school...how sad Josh and I can't seem to get it done at night! :) And we really have no excuse...I will blame it on our aging brains. :)

I go back to the doctor tomorrow. I think pretty soon I have to start going every 2 weeks...that will be annoying to schedule around school.

On the "Keatin front," she is feeling better...except we battled "loose poo-poo" all Labor Day weekend from the antibiotic she is taking for her ear infection. She had an EXTREMELY sore bottom, that has been permanently covered in maximum strength Desitin for days. :) It seems to be helping, so that is good. We will hit the potty-training again this week...last week was a wash.

Went to Storm Lake over Labor Day weekend...but I didn't even take one picture! Paul took some...if he e-mails them to me, I will certainly post them on the blog.

Sorry it took me a few days to get a 24 week picture posted. As you can see, I took it myself...at work...in my office - ha! :)

Keatin has been running a fever and at home since Monday... I have felt her 2 top 2-year molars poking through...and after her constant complaining that her mouth hurt, took her to the doctor last night. She also has a mild ear infection in both ears, a red throat, and hand/foot/mouth disease (she has white sores all over her tongue)! No wonder she has been whiny, huh? Got some antibiotics for the ears (and will hopefully help the throat)...but hand/foot/mouth disease is viral, so that just has to run its course. Josh has been home with her the last 2 days, and my mom is there today (I caught her on the phone quick last night as she was driving back to SL from a funeral in Wisconsin). What a week!
