July 10th...
Just wanted to share a picture of Josh and I over the 4th of July weekend in SL. We had a great time...but we were definitely tired when we made it back to Ames. Sleeping has been getting more difficult for me at night time - just awake a lot, and up going to the bathroom. Oh well - like they say, it is the prep for when the baby comes! :) We have our childbirth class this Saturday, and then off to Okoboji until Monday!

June 30th...
Hello everyone! Can you believe it is almost July??? CRAZY! Anyways, I have uploaded 2 pictures of our baby's room. It is not done yet, but last week I did hang the curtains and the comforter. As you can see, the bedding is an animal/barnyard theme...I still think it leans towards the boy side of things, but it does have some red and pink in it! Plus, got a GREAT deal on it - so couldn't pass it up! The crib and changing table/dresser combo are a distressed black...

I was in SL over the weekend for one of Jen's bridal showers, and here is a picture of us...I am a few days over 33 weeks in this picture. Thanks to my friend Jenni for the great dress she loaned to me - I got lots of compliments on it! :)

Josh and I were at the doctor this morning. The heart rate was between 140-150. However, my doctor thinks the baby is still breech...she is pretty sure she felt the head up high and the back of the baby wedged off to my left side (which might explain all the movements/sensations I have been having on my right hip bone). Anyways, at our next appointment in 2 weeks, we will have another ultrasound for a position and fluid check. She gave me some exercises and pressure point things to do in the next 2 weeks to encourage the baby to turn. I did ask her if having a breech baby is hereditary since I was breech. She said she had actually just read an article about the fact that it might be...if my mom's pelvic bone or uterus was oddly-shaped...mine might be too...and the baby might not be able to get turned into the right position. SO...not the end of the world, and Josh and I are actually very excited to see our baby again - I bet he/she will look so different! (Although we are both a bit afraid we might see more of the sexual organs than we want...we will have to remind the ultrasound technician to hide those.) :) I am still feeling great for the most part - starting to notice it is hard to get my breath sometimes, and more tenderness in my legs/hands if I use them too much...although I was just outside for 2.5 hours sanding some furniture...oh well! :)
We will be going home this weekend again for the 4th of July, and off to Okoboji the following weekend for another bridal shower for Jen/Grandma's time share at Village West. Crimson was in Storm Lake all last week, so it is good to have her back - it is silly how much we miss her when she is gone - we are such geeks! :)

Holy Cow - white tummy!
OK - put on your shades before you look at this white tummy - AAHH! I didn't realize how white it looks but WOW - in this picture you need blinders! :) BTW - this is from 6/13...31 weeks.

It has been a busy few weeks and don't REALLY feel like I have started that "summer vacation." I am in Storm Lake right now and heading to Omaha tomorrow morning for the big bachelorette/bachelor party weekend for Jen and Joey. I have been busy in Ames with water in our basement and doing some projects around the house...plus planning the bachelorette party and working on a benefit/silent auction for the secretary at my school. I will be back in Storm Lake next weekend for Jen's bridal shower, and probably the weekend after that for the 4th of July. Oh - and the weekend after that, I am doing a garage sale in Ames, our day-long childbirth class, and then up to Okoboji for another bridal shower for Jen and Joey. You know me - busy busy! :)
Hope everyone is well and will try to update after the bachelorette party - maybe some good pics of me drinking it up - HA HA!

Been awhile!!!!!
Sorry it has been awhile since I have posted any new pics... I have had several friends in the last couple days mention it, so I decided I better get some new material on the blog!
I am done with school for the summer as of last Monday. I left on Tuesday for Wichita, KS for the week to visit my friend Jenni Christians and her family. Below is a picture of her youngest, Carly...who is an angel. :) I had fun doing family and baby stuff, and it is always good to catch up with Jenni. She has 4 kiddos to watch...so made me feel more confident that I can handle the one I am going to have!

Below is a picture of me from last night...almost 31 weeks. I went to a breastfeeding class last night, so got to hang out with a lot of other pregos - ha ha! Over the weekend, we worked on cleaning out closets and making room for baby stuff. The nursery is starting to take shape. I will have to take some pics of that and pass them on...

This weekend is Josh's birthday, next weekend is Jen's bachelorette party in Omaha, and the following weekend is Jen's bridal shower in SL - I will be a busy girl! Maybe it will help me pass the time until this baby comes!
I promise to be better about posting pics and Barber news!!!

We have a new roof!
It is official...we have a new roof! We have spent our Memorial Day weekend re-roofing our house...with the help of WONDERFUL friends. A HUGE thank you to Aaron, Trish, Lane, Ben, Michelle, Peyton, Ben Ortmann, Lyle, and Becca (and of course my wonderful husband Josh)...everyone who played a role in getting this project done. It looks amazing - you wouldn't think a new roof could make your house look so different! Anyways, I believe you should be able to click on the link below and check out all the pics I took over the weekend. Let me know if it doesn't work... Have a great week - last week of school for me! :)

May 18th....
I am sitting in a hotel room in Dubuque, so thought I would pass the time by updating/posting some new stuff. :) Below are 2 pictures of my tummy - from 5/6 (almost 26 weeks) & 5/12 (almost 27 weeks).

Last weekend, we were in Omaha for Jen's graduation from pharmacy school and this weekend we were in Dubuque for a wedding...Josh's friend Tadd. He is in the army, and just returned from overseas a few weeks ago. Josh was a groomsmen in the wedding - here he is walking down the "aisle" (it was an outdoor wedding). Below that is a picture of Josh and I after the wedding ceremony.
I have my 28 week appointment tomorrow morning...and I know I have to get a shot. I think Josh will skip out on that, since he about fainted when he had to get his blood drawn. :) Things are going well...besides I have developed HORRIBLE heartburn. And the more it happens, the more I think it is acid reflux or something like that...wakes me up in the middle of the night, and happens during the day as well - my throat feels like it is on fire. I am hoping my doctor can give me some advice tomorrow!
In other news...Josh and I are preparing to re-roof our house next weekend - OH BOY! Aaron Carlson is our "head man" - what a wonderful friend to help us do this. Also, Ben and his family will be coming up from Kansas...so we will have a fun, work-filled weekend! (I believe Trish volunteered to rip shingles off as well, so looks like I will just have to hold baby Lane.) :) We are praying for good weather, and can't wait to have this house project under our belts. :)
Only 2 more weeks of school for me - YIPEE!!!

A nice weekend...
No pictures of me this time...thought I would share the other members of the family. :) Here is Josh and Crimson relaxing on Saturday night, watching a little NBA playoff basketball. Below that is a pic of our "green thumb" project of the day...we planted a mini garden - 4 tomato plants and 2 pepper plants. :) We actually got a little sun - yipee!
In baby news, my belly button is slowly becoming shallower and shallower. I predict that I will soon have an outie. :) Josh is showing more interest in actually feeling the baby move, so that is fun...I think he is shocked by how much he can feel it (I tell him that I feel double that on the inside)!
Hope everyone has a nice week!
