Labor Day Weekend

Daddy was off to the hawkeye football game on Saturday...so the kids and I were off to Adventureland! It was hot...but fun to go back. :)

On Sunday, the kids decided to build a "tent" in the garage...which turned into a fort...which turned into a "neighbors club" with the help of a storm door box & 9 year old Lauren's guidance.:)

And when the club got a little boring, I jazzed up some excitement in the girls with shaving cream.:)

Great weekend...hard to go back to work today!

2 weekends ago we were off to cedar falls to see Carlsons! They have an above ground pool...and we spent lots of time outside, enjoying the sun and water!

And baby Araina...Keatin was in love. :)

We had family pictures taken last night...and yes, it was 100 degrees. :) But we survived...and with the bribe of ice cream for children who had big smiles, click here to see what we got! I am thrilled. :)

August 7th...Keatin's 5th birthday! The day started off with opening a few gifts...

...and then it was off to an all day outing at adventureland with 6 yer old Lauren! (Will stayed home-thanks Becca!) We had an awesome day & their giggles all day long were truly priceless. :) Happy 5th birthday baby girl...

A little catch-up!

Wow! I need to play "blog catch-up!" I tell you what, going back to school takes up a lot of your time. :-)

Let's start with August 6th...day before Keatin's bday... Our neighbor, 9 year old Lauren, hung out with us that morning...

...and then we headed downtown for an early birthday lunch with Josh. Isn't he so cool??

And after Keatin went to bed, I got the house all ready for the big 5th birthday!!!

{Keatin - 1st day of kindergarten}

Well folks...today was our baby's 1st day of kindergarten.

She has been SO excited, but had some tears last week...so I wasn't sure what to expect this morning...but the "Back To School Fairy" left her a treat on the table this morning, we put a few special things in her backpack (just in case she needed them at school today), and she was good to go!

I realize I am SO spoiled to be able to see Keatin at school, and probably why I didn't feel as emotional about the whole day! She had a great day...and I got to peek on her several times. :)

Happy successful first day of Kindergarten Keatin - you are such a special girl and we can't wait to watch you grow this year!

Today...

...was my last official day of summer. 😪

Tomorrow...back to oh-so-exciting in-service meetings at school. :)

I am going to miss my days with K & W very much. They may drive me batty at times, but I love them fiercely...and I am so blessed to have these summer days with them!

So today we...went to the indoor play place this morning...

And this afternoon, I made homemade sidewalk paint for Keatin & Lauren...they giggled their way through the day one last time before school.:)

We ended our night by going on a family bike ride to get ice cream-so good! :)
