Well...we are safe and sound, home from the Windy City of Chicago. But it was a blast. :)
The reason for our trip? Jen and Joey were given 4 Chicago Cubs tickets as a Christmas gift from Joey's parents...something they won/bought at a charity event in Omaha...and Jen/Joey asked us/chose us (THANK YOU!) as their companions for the game. Saturday's game against the Astros was the date/game that ended up working out...and so our mini-vacation was planned.
Josh and I shopped all day Friday on Michigan Avenue - Jen and Joey got there around 4-4:30. We walked down to Lake Michigan and then indulged ourselves with some Chicago-Style Deep-Dish Pizza. :) Saturday was devoted to riding the L Train (LOVE IT!) and the Cubs game. Oh...and as a small side note (J/K - a HUGE side note)...we got a tour of Wrigley Field including time in the press box, organ room, under the scoreboard, and ON THE FIELD!! And we didn't just sit in any ol' seats...we were in an air-conditioned suite, complete with complimentary beer, wine, food, desserts, and mixed drinks. Oh - and the Cubs won...a perfect day. :)
Click here to see pics from our trip. They uploaded in backwards order...not sure why...so the first pics you see are from the end of the trip...the last pics uploaded are from the beginning of the trip.
Oh - and Saturday night...after dinner...walking back to our hotel...Jen, Joey, and I were gawking at the Broadway signs...and Josh was about falling over himself...because we went shoulder-to-shoulder passing Peyton Manning on the sidewalk! For real! :)
