We headed back to Storm Lake on Friday afternoon to celebrate Easter with our families. We were able to see all of our immediate family and even Great-Grandma Petersen! In addition, Grandma Petersen's birthday was on Easter and Aunt Jen's birthday is on Wednesday...so we were able to throw in two mini-birthday celebrations. The Easter Bunny was VERY kind to Keatin and Will...he must love them a lot. :) Below are some snapshots of our time...
Saturday morning when Will was napping, Keatin got to dye Easter eggs. She enjoyed "painting" them (her words). :)
These are the crazy squirrels that live outside my mom and dad's house...
After Will woke up from his morning nap, we headed to see the Easter Bunny. Last year, we got the cutest pictures of Will...and Keatin refused to get on his lap. This year, Keatin did a great job...and Will was very uncertain.
My favorite. :)
Saturday evening, we headed over to G & G Barber's house for supper and an Easter Egg hunt. The Easter Bunny brought Keatin the cutest Dora swimsuit...which she promptly put on. :)
Will tried to shove all the plastic eggs in his mouth...shock.
Josh, Will, and Uncle Tyler...doing "boy things." (AKA - sitting on the couch, watching TV) :)
Sunday morning after church, the Easter Bunny FINALLY woke up and hid eggs around G & G Petersen's house!
Before our Easter feast, we were able to capture of few pictures down by the lake...it was a bit windy, but got a few cute ones!
Hope that everyone had a wonderful Easter celebrating with family and friends!

very belated...but a great weekend
All 4 of the Barbers had a WONDERFUL weekend...I am late getting around to posting pictures on the blog about it! :) SHOCK!
Josh and I headed to Columbia, MO on Saturday morning for a wedding (about a 5 hour drive one way). Before we left town, we dropped Will off at my co-worker's/our good friends' house in Nevada. He spent 2 days with Lyle, Becca, Jack, and Reid...and from what I hear, Will was a good little house guest and they had a lot of fun together. (Click here to see pictures.) When I got there to pick him up on Sunday afternoon, he barely glanced at me across the yard and went back to playing...so I took that to mean he was just fine without me. :)
We drove about 15 more miles down Hwy. 30 and then dropped Keatin off at my principal's house in State Center. She got to spend 2 days with my principal and her husband...and their 3 girls. She was in HEAVEN!!!! She got to go on an Easter Egg Hunt with their family, attend a barbecue, go to church, and even make a guest appearance in their church's children's choir - ha! Again, when we got there on Sunday to pick her up, she actually didn't even come up to hug us and instead, stayed on the swing and started to cry because she didn't want to leave. :)
A HUGE thank you to both sets of our friends for loving on our kids while we were gone! It made me feel so good to know my kids were having a blast without us.
On our drive to Columbia, we did things like this...
...and this. Can you tell we aren't alone, just the 2 of us very much??? Ha! But let me tell you...the 10 hours we spent in the car over the weekend was SO much more enjoyable without 2 small children along for the ride!
Josh's old roommate from NWMSU was getting married. Chris happened to go to high school with my freshman roommate at Creighton University... A total fluke thing, but throughout our college years...we were able to all hang out a lot because we all knew each other! SO...I got to see one of my BFF's Priya at the wedding as well and her new baby Anand. It was really a great trip all the way around. Below is a picture of Josh with 3 of his roommates from college - John, John, Chris, and Josh.
And here are the 2 lovelies that were freshman roommates at Creighton in the fall of 1999! :)
And look what fun sign we found in our travels!!! Monroe, IA was speaking to you William Paul Barber! HA!

clean biscuits
These 2 were being silly in the bath last night...singing and talking to the shampoo bottles. :)
But as G'ma Barber would say...look at those clean "biscuits." :)

it's been awhile...
Sorry Barber blog...been awhile since I have posted any pictures!
Last weekend, we were in SL to do our taxes and enjoy the un-March-like weather! Completely unplanned, Josh and Will were dressed alike for the Kentucky/ISU game. Boo Kentucky. :(
Sunday morning at G & G Barber's house...surprisingly, this cuddle session lasted for several minutes. :)
Over at G & G Petersen's house, we hit up the park. Will was in heaven. :)
This just happened tonight. While Keatin, Josh, and I were trying to enjoy our supper, Will was in one cranky mood! (So relaxing.) Anyways, I finally distracted him with an art board Keatin has...which has some white chalk in it. This is the door frame to our porch/deck...didn't notice Will's handy-work until I was cleaning up after supper. Keatin has NEVER drawn on a wall! AND, as I was cleaning up the chalk, Keatin comes running in the kitchen, telling me Daddy needs a wet washcloth because Will just colored on the wall in the living room. Lord almighty!!!

my random husband
So...Josh randomly bought a new bike last weekend.
Yesterday he called me at work to tell me he got a new pump for bike/stroller tires...great! Oh...and he said he bought something else...see below. :) We had discussed it would be fun to get a bike trailer for the kids...I didn't realize that meant we were getting one...like now.
My dad thinks I am doing part of RAGBRAI this summer with him...not sure about that, but at least now I have all the necessary materials if I want to try!
The trailer has been a huge hit with Keatin...I think Will is still trying to decide it he likes it or not!

Saturday/Sunday Sun
Last weekend, we were out playing in the snow.
Yesterday and today, we were out in the sun...with no coats...Iowa weather is insane. :)
I love this picture of Keatin and Josh...and I loved watching them ride their bikes together...reminded me of riding my bike with my dad. :)
I believe this guy would have tried to ride a bike too! If only his legs were longer... :)
Keatin and Will enjoyed the swings at the park...but Keatin hopped off her swing after awhile so she could help push her brother. :)
(Are there ever pictures of me on this blog???) :) Ha - a rare Megan sighting!
Today, after lunch, Keatin begged to go on another bike ride. Could have been because her daddy, when sent to the store to get an anniversary card, came home with a new bike for himself. Random. :) Josh and Keatin hopped on their bikes, and Will/I trailed behind with the stroller. This time, we headed to Kate Mitchell Elementary to play!
See this rock???? Yes, I licked it, tried to chew it, and put it in my mouth. Mmmmmm Mom. :)

Sunday snow
It snowed 4 inches in Ames on Sunday.
Yesterday, it was almost 70 degrees.
And last night, Keatin was up from 1130 pm - 400 am throwing up.
Crazy few days...
Enjoy a few of the shots I took on Sunday when we went outside to play. No pics of Keatin...she spent our time sitting on top of the sledding hill and just eating snow out of her gloves. :) Will was our snow bunny. :)
